The Registered Nurse functions as member of a clinical team in the provision of health
care in a fast-paced college health center. Responsibilities include obtaining pertinent
medical information during check-in; educating patients; providing care and treatment to
patients consistent with nursing practice and theory; and administering vaccinations and
performing basic laboratory tests. Must demonstrate the ability to accurately assess a
patient's medical problem. May assume a lead role in the clinic whenever necessary.

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.

* Must demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and patient care
* Must demonstrate the ability to accurately assess a patient and perform clinical skills
including administering medications and immunizations, drawing blood, starting IVs and
performing EKGS
* Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and the ability to handle
situations with tact and discretion
* Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability
to communicate effectively to students, families, staff and faculty
* Must demonstrate the ability to work with a variety of staff across multiple disciplines
* Must demonstrate the ability to function independently, seeking input as needed, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment.
* Must demonstrate strong attention to detail

* Graduate of a state accredited school of professional nursing
* Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina, by the N.C. Board
of Nursing
* Current CPR certification
