Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Instructor Manager with expertise in medical education to lead a team of qualified instructors responsible for delivering both basic and advanced medical training for JSOMTC medical courses. Aligned with the current Program of Instruction (POI) and Performance Work Statement (PWS), this role is pivotal in shaping the quality of medical education provided. The Senior Instructor Manager will also play a vital role in supporting curriculum development and advancing medical procedures within the specialized context of Combat Medic training.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

    The Senior Instructor Manager is responsible for the quality of all exercises, contract instruction, ensuring instructors are qualified prior to instruction, compliance with employee security requirements, and coordination with subject matter experts (SME) teaching specific skill blocks of instruction. The Senior Instructor Manager shall be one of the "working" contract instructors and will require the same credentials as listed for the SOF Medical Instructor/Technical Writer/Training Developer.
  • The Senior Instructor Manager shall be responsible for supporting the daily operations of JSOMTC, including all instruction and hands-on application through practical exercises with various tools for medical instruction.
  • The Senior Instructor Manager shall maintain, update, proofread, and recommend changes to program lesson plans to include class content.
  • The Senior Instructor Manager shall ensure all instructors are qualified for the classes/courses prior to any instruction.
  • The Senior Instructor Manager shall conduct or permit the Government to perform preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) on all Government equipment and systems employed in support of the POI.
  • All contract employees may be required to undergo specialized training above the minimum stated to qualify as faculty for the Government. Such training will be provided by the Government and shall be a part of the required duties to take place after contract performance commences.
  • As part of the required training, all instructors shall successfully complete a specialized block of training for the live tissue laboratory. The training will be conducted by a government physician or veterinarian who will document and retain a listing of the qualified instructors who completed the training. The training and certification will be repeated annually for the duration of the contract.
  • All instructors participating in live tissue laboratory training shall undergo pre-lab briefings in accordance with Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) guidelines.
  • All contracted employees who are Advanced Tactical Practitioner (ATP) qualified cardholders will go through and pass the entire Special Operations Combat Medic Skills Sustainment Course (SOCMSSC)block of instruction and ATP test (reference USSOCOM Directive 350-29 for standards). This requirement may be waived by the Group Commander for contractors working in blocks of instruction where this qualification is not deemed as required by the Group Commander.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Requires strong leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional teams.
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in customer service skills, use of routine office equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and web-based applications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Four years Army Special Forces experience
  • Four (4) years' experience of supervision, management, and operation of Mission Command Training Center/Complex, with emphasis on Combat Medic unique exercises.
  • Experience working with military personnel, including senior military officers, general manager experience and prior contractor experience.
  • All instructors shall possess current certifications in the following:
    • Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS-I)
    • Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor (ACLS-I)
    • Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Professionals (PEPP) Instructor
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Certification. AHA certification must be accomplished within 6 weeks of hiring at the contractor's expense
    • Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic EMT-P, certified IAW NREMT or IAW a U.S. jurisdiction or IAW USSOCOM Advanced Tactical Practitioner (ATP) requirements.
  • Must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years of experience at Special Forces battalion or higher Army or Joint Special Operations organization. Combat Medic Highly Desired.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) Experience may substitute for certification.
  • Experience with Special Warfare Center & School (SWCS) Training Management System.
