Southern Pines HR Manager

Position Summary:
Ingersoll Rand's Power Tools & Lifting (PTL) business is looking for a transformational Human Resources Manager to support our Southern Pines, NC facility. This facility performs machining and assembly of power tools, as well as pumps for our Precision Science Technologies (PST) Business Unit. This role directly reports into the Senior Human Resources Manager, NA PTL.

We are seeking an inspirational, hands on leader who can be a hands-on, transformational plant human resource leader to develop and execute critical business and organizational strategies as well as effectively manage day to day HR tasks.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be a credible, trusted coach and confidante to all levels of the organization - comfortable spending a high percentage of time building relationships on the manufacturing floor.
  • Develop and execute HR plans, processes, and programs aligned with business objectives, including organizational design, compensation, succession planning, talent management/acquisition, goal alignment, employee engagement and communications.
  • Works closely with leadership and employees to improve work relationships, build positive engagement, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Effectively investigates and resolves complex employee relations issues.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees and provide practical solutions to reducing legal risks and ensuring policies and guidelines meet regulatory compliance.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to frontline management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, performance improvement).
  • Owns the Plant training gap assessment and leadership development programs to ensure right talent capabilities and bench strength are developed to support the business.
  • Serve as expert in change management processes to positively impact organizational effectiveness; provides guidance and coaching to leadership team on change management.
  • Collaborating with the Plant Leaders to create a cultural which supports a respectful, safe, positive and inclusive environment.
  • Manages a sustainable workforce staffing plan and all recruitment/onboarding activities for the Plant, including vendor management.
  • Collaborates with other business unit HR leaders to share best practices, critical needs issues, and business unit initiatives.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies.

  • Demonstrated success in creating an environment of trust with clients where integrity is unquestioned; can effectively utilize negotiation and conflict resolution skills when needed.
  • Demonstrated experience in comprehending, interpreting, and applying the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Self-sufficient with excellent time management skills, attention to detail and with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and delivery with proven, measurable results for managing change.
  • Strong talent management, leadership development, performance management, and org development experience.
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience and 3 or more years of HR leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • HR certification preferred
  • Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred
