We have an opportunity for a Senior Reliability Engineer to join our Apex, NC team. You will provide ownership of the strategic direction and implementation of the reliability strategy for an extensive range of new product types and major product improvements. You will be a part of the new product development team and you will work closely with cross functional partners including product management, operations, marketing, sales and our field testing and service teams.

You will:

  • Create the Pentair Pool targeted reliability strategy for the development of new products and ongoing reliability testing (ORT).
  • Develop appropriate reliability targets and evaluation methodologies, including relevant acceleration models.
  • Scope and oversee implementation of appropriate enhancements of existing capabilities to support new technologies, including test configuration and equipment selection.
  • Be the primary owner of Pentair Pool xFMEA processes to further enhance our product integrity and drive a DFR mentality.
  • Provide severity assessments for any failures found during testing including risk analysis to statistically quantify potential field impact.
  • Collaborate with other reliability resources across all Pentair segments to ensure best practices are shared and implemented.
  • Be a significant contributor in the failure analysis process for returns from the field, including corrective action validation.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in product reliability with electro-mechanical products
  • Extensive experience working in a dynamic new product development organization with hands on participation in product qualification.
  • Solid understanding of complex products involving both FW/SW and hardware interactions.
  • Significant experience in the use of reliability modeling and application of statistical analysis in field performance prediction.
  • Experience working within a cross functional NPD / NPI environment with direct engagement with Operations and Quality.
  • Proven project management skills for orchestrating complex testing projects.
  • Technical aptitude with a sound understanding of product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities in a dynamic product development environment.
  • Excellent data-based decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability for navigating ambiguity and providing technical leadership during challenging circumstances.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for meticulous record-keeping.
  • Leadership qualities to drive process improvements and enhance overall testing efficiency..
  • Ability to travel less than 25%.
