Location: Onsite in Southern Pines, NC

FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is a key member of the Southern Pines HR team assisting with the administration of IR policies and processes, recruitment, benefits, payroll and engagement activities to ensure this plant is a great place to work. This position assists the HR Manager and Southern Pines leadership team with key people functions and overall HR responsibilities such as; communication of IR policies, reporting, timekeeping, benefits, and other HR tasks. This individual must display unquestionable honesty, integrity, and a strong commitment to confidentiality. They must have a roll-up your sleeves attitude and spend quality time in the Plant operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist include the following but are not limited to these tasks:

  • Assist with performance management, talent management, training and development, HR administration, communication and employee education of company policies and procedures.
  • Manage annual benefits enrollment communications and support, coordination of annual biometrics activities, and employee questions concerning their benefit plans.
  • Help develop and execute internal training programs and administers training projects.
  • Assist management to drive employee engagement by supporting engagement survey events, engagement communications, IDM projects, program development and roll out.
  • Deliver a great internal customer (employee) experience for all levels of the plant by seeking to understand, listen and respond in a thorough and friendly manner.
  • Work collaboratively with HR Manager to ensure legal compliance, assisting or conducting investigations and corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform maintenance and management of hourly and salaried employee records in Success Factors and Kronos.
  • Create and interprets reports and dashboards to communicate progress and results related to HR initiatives.
  • Manage a variety of leave programs, ADA interactive process and workers compensation process.
  • Improve employee relations by helping to build a healthy organization and promoting a culture of respect consistent with company values.
  • Perform 6S and BBS audits in the plant to enforce our value of safety first.
  • Assist the HR Manager with special projects and initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with all levels of company including the leadership team.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple priorities at once.

  • Able to work accurately with figures and perform detailed work.
  • Must be flexible and organized. Able to reprioritize daily with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to exercise good judgement, be discrete and tactful.
  • Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have solid interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate employees to interact positively with various departments throughout the organization.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor&aposs degree, preferably in Human Resources.
  • 3+ years of human resources generalist experience.
  • Human resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products especially Excel.
  • HRCI or SHRM certification preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, airborne particles, and vibration from hammering of parts and using hand tools.
  • Since it is a manufacturing environment, the noise level is usually loud due to the different machinery being operated (i.e. forklifts, hand tools, machines in other departments) and the testing that occurs. Normal noise exposure in the area ranges from 80-90 dba; hearing protection is required while on the plant floor.
