The role of HSE Program Manager will be to drive ELIP (Electrification Installation Products) US/LATAM HSE oversight and implementation of management systems, including the execution of a deployment strategy to assure company and regulatory compliance. This role will work collaboratively with the ELIP US/LATAM HSE professionals to drive HSE expectations, accountability, and compliance while promoting a positive HSE culture across the organization. This role will support the ELIP US/LATAM Hub organization as required.

Your responsibilities

  • Drive excellence in the development and implementation of a world-class program for effectively communicating "lessons learned" from operating reviews, audits, and incident investigations across all supported organizations
  • Assist in the development HSE culture transformation programs to promote a culture of excellence, leadership, and engagement across the ELIP US/LATAM organization
  • Assist ELIP US/LATAM HSE Manager with HSE professional development training for HSE and operations personnel
  • Assist in the execution of the HSE/SA training strategy and the implementation of the ELIP US/LATAM training objectives in alignment with ABB group guidance, policies, and procedures
  • Assist in the develop and implement HSE training and competence strategies and plans for ELIP US/LATAM and support the ELIP US/LATAM HUB HSE Manager as appropriate
  • Assist in the development and delivery of the overall ELIP US/LATAM training matrix to include policies, tools, training delivery, training content, and qualifications of trainers
  • Collaborate with ELIP US/LATAM functional managers and business leaders to discuss and provide counsel on current issues that can be supported or resolved through existing, new, innovative and/or improved learning & development practices, processes, and policies
  • Support the development and harmonization of required tools, programs, procedures, management systems, and ensure proper and sustainable implementation
  • Ensure that HSE programs/documentation required to support programs and management systems are comprehensive and current
  • Implement and continuously optimize processes and procedures within area of functional responsibility in alignment with ABB Way guidance, policy, and procedures
  • Lead, conduct, and participate in internal and ELIP US/LATAM HSE audits to ensure excellence in executions, regulatory compliance, and company requirements
  • Act as a technical expert and lead trainer for high impact HSE topics such as Risk Assessment, Ergonomics, Electrical Safety NFPA 70E, LOTO, Fall Protection, Materials Handling, Cranes and Rigging, as well as other topics
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of HSE related communications and reporting
  • Participate on ELIP US/LATAM site visits and audits as needed
Your background

  • BA/BS degree with a Minimum of four (4) years of progressive HSE experience with a focus on manufacturing OR High school diploma with ten (10) years experiences
  • Formal certification and training in Health, Safety, and Environmental fields
  • Willing to travel up to 50 percent of time
  • Relevant HSE experience, over 3 years, in HSE management systems, training and campaigns
  • Advanced use of 3rd party data base management systems, MS Office, etc.
  • Advanced training and certifications including OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001/14001, auditing skills, OSHA, Labor, and compliance law, etc. are preferred
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
