Description of primary duties and responsibilities: |
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit: The Division of Institutional Advancement serves to connect external parties with opportunities to partner, support and participate with Fayetteville State University and its programming. The division is responsible for all development and fundraising-related activities and the planning and organization of university relations and public affairs programs. The division is organized to conduct the major following functions: Major gifts solicitations, Annual giving and relationship management, planned giving, corporate and foundation giving, alumni relations, capital campaign planning and implementation, processing and acknowledgement, prospect research, Integrated branding and marketing, public relations, special Events, crisis communications, publications.
Primary Purpose of the Position: This position involves cultivation and solicitation of donors; active, ongoing personal stewardship of supporters; activities that build and enhance relationships between the University and external constituencies; and the development and dissemination of relevant information about the University. This professional will be responsible for soliciting annual fund level gifts, from all donor types. This position will focus on lead annual gifts and the discovery of major gifts. |

55% -Develop a comprehensive annual giving plan
Executing Fall and Spring appeals to the full donor database. Managing Giving Days. Managing Student Calling/ Phone-A-Thons. Developing segmented messages for various constituency groups. Overseeing Peer-to-Peer Campaigns. Oversees Bronco Callers. 25%- Work closely with University Advancement components, including Development, Advancement Services, Prospect Research, Donor Relations, and Alumni Affairs to: Identify and upgrade prospects. Ensure that donors are identified, upgraded, and assigned. Support Events, including reunions, homecoming, and galas. Collect and share data to inform key performance indicators. 20%-Serve as principal discovery officer and go on initial visits to qualify individuals as potential annual gift donors to Fayetteville State University. Manage a portfolio of 60 prospective annual gift donors to Fayetteville State University. Make approximately 5 visits a month to prospective donors. |
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements: | A master's or a bachelor's degree in any field with one or two years of experience in higher education fundraising, non-profit fundraising, sales, marketing, or other related field. |
