As an ELIS (Electrification Industrial Specialist) Infrastructure Specialist you will apply strong Information Systems (IS) infrastructure technology knowledge and expertise to support infrastructure activity within all IS process domains. Support large manufacturing and office environment including PC (Personal Computer) Hardware, Software, Applications, VOIP, Peripherals, and manufacturing equipment. Provide support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for end users and support teams. This role supports ABB's Electrification Installation Products Division. This is an onsite Support role based in our Mebane manufacturing plant.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide hardware and software support including break or fix, imaging, inventory, post build set up, new user set up, and peripheral installation
  • Configure and manage MFPs (Multifunction Processor) and printing solutions including large MFP devices (Xerox, Sharp), Label Printers (Zebra), and small use laser printers (HP)
  • Ensure Manufacturing Excellence: Supports manufacturing environment, support technologies required for continued business operations including off hours support and on call rotation
  • Support the installation of new IS solutions or services in regards of the required infrastructure, or the changing of existing IS solutions or services
  • When involved, deliver the appropriate IS solution or service infrastructure in time, in budget and at quality
  • Provide leadership to temporary work teams, guiding and monitoring task completion, sharing expert knowledge and advice normally without carrying line responsibility
Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems related field preferred with a minimum of 2 years experience in an enterprise End User support role
  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision making and ability to work alone or with a team
  • Experience working in a demanding environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office and Support of 0365
  • Understanding of Networking Topology, Concepts and Server Infrastructure
  • Experience applying analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Windows 10 or 11 knowledge and support experience
  • Experience in programming or scripting in an Information Technology (IT) environment preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, procedures, and factory IT programs preferred
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
