As a production supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a diverse and talented manufacturing team. Your primary goal is to properly organize staff members and achieve a reasonable workflow throughout the day. Your position will also include directing, disciplining, training, and assisting lower-level manufacturing employees in a factory setting.

Production Supervisor Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Helps manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results
  • Enforces company policies and guidelines
  • Trains employees
  • Assists workers by offering personal growth opportunities and cross training.
  • Implements cost-saving strategies and techniques
  • Ensures that production plans are completed by set deadlines
  • Communicates cross functionally with other departments to ensure that jobs are completed and that there are people and equipment available to complete jobs.
  • Coach employees on how to achieve an optimal output or workflow.
  • Resolves issues and disputes between manufacturing employees with senior leadership.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for all workers.
  • Compiles and analyzes production records including the KPI's for their area

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, lifting 30 lbs. or more, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, color determination, near acuity, speaking, listening

Work Environment:

  • This position is required to work in a manufacturing environment facility.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.

Safety:

  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to company and OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Wear the proper protective equipment as required and ensure all direct reports are doing the same.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of previous supervisory experience (Team lead or Supervisor)
  • 2+ years' experience in manufacturing
  • Lean experience and certifications preferred
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills
  • Ability to track expenses and KPI data.
  • Broad knowledge of production planning processes
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Comfortable working in manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of machine controls and instrumentation
  • Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting.
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree
  • 2- Year associate degree or a bachelor's degree in related field preferred but not required
